OTT platform fees compared: what you really pay in 2026

Most OTT platforms charge per subscriber or take a share of every sale, so your bill grows with your audience. Here is what Uscreen, Vimeo OTT, Muvi, Endavo, Dacast and Brightcove publicly charge, and how to estimate your real cost.

Choosing an OTT platform is mostly a question of how its fees grow. Many platforms look cheap at launch, then charge you more for every new subscriber or take a cut of every sale. This guide compares the public OTT platform fees of six popular providers, so you can estimate what you would really pay at your size.

The three ways OTT platforms charge

Almost every OTT platform fee falls into one of three models. Many combine two of them.

  • Per-subscriber fees: a fixed amount for each paying subscriber, every month.
  • Revenue share or transaction fees: a percentage of your sales, sometimes plus a fixed amount per purchase.
  • Flat plans with usage limits: a monthly price that includes a set amount of bandwidth or storage, with overage charges above it.

Per-subscriber and revenue-share fees rise as you grow. Flat plans are predictable until you pass their limits.

What OTT platform fees look like at 2,000 subscribers

Take a service with 2,000 subscribers paying $7 a month, plus $3,000 a month in rentals. That is $17,000 of monthly revenue. Using the public prices above:

  1. Uscreen App Essentials: $449 + $1,980 in subscriber fees + $150 on sales = about $2,579 a month.
  2. Endavo Channel Pro: $999 + 10% of revenue = about $2,699 a month.
  3. Dacast Scale: $165 + 9.9% of revenue + $0.40 per renewal = about $2,648 a month.
  4. Vimeo OTT Starter: $2,000 + $300 = about $2,300 a month, without branded TV apps.

At this size, fees that grow with your audience already cost around 15% of revenue. Double the audience and those fees roughly double too.

Costs that are easy to miss

Platform fees are only part of the bill. Also budget for:

  • Card processing, usually around 2.9% + $0.30 per payment with Stripe.
  • App-store commission when viewers subscribe inside iOS, Android or TV apps.
  • Bandwidth overage on plans with usage caps.
  • Extra fees for TV apps such as Roku and Apple TV, which are often limited to top plans.

How Acfer Stream prices differently

Acfer Stream charges one fixed installation fee, including a custom UI design, with optional monthly maintenance and 24/7 support. There are no per-subscriber fees and no revenue share. Hosting runs in your own AWS account and is billed at cost, so the only cost that grows is the bandwidth your viewers actually use.
